I was out there downtown Drinking by myself With no one else But when you caught my eye I knew right then I had to make you mine! I'm gonna rock you tonight! I'm gonna rock you tonight! I'm gonna rock you tonight! I'll buy you a drink And talk about the things that you like That get you excited I'll hail a cab and take it back to your house And that's where I'll show you what love really is! I'm gonna rock you tonight! I'm gonna rock you tonight! I'm gonna rock you tonight! I'll be gone by the morning light You'll never forget last night I'm gonna haunt you in your dreams It'll never get better than me

I've gotta run so far away from here I can't pretend I'm asleep in bed I can't look into your eyes again Going down this lonely road The same one I went down so many times before But this time you won't see me again There in the city of broken dreams I'll blend in with the scenery faster than you can say... Well... Anything that will come to mind So say "good bye" Why? I never wanted this to become my life It's confusing but things gotta be this way I'm gonna leave this town and finally change Going down that lonely road The same one I went down so many times before But this time you won't see me again There in the city of broken dreams I'll blend in with the scenery faster than you can say... Well... Anything that will come to mind So say "good bye" I feel like I'm drifting out to sea And the salt water stings in my busted lips Don't want to carry on the traditions That the captain must go down with the ship But I've got an escape plan... I've got an escape plan this time... And if I do this thing just right You'll never see me again after tonight... but... I needed you to know That I always loved you And I needed you to know That I can't be with you So take the kids to the coast like we planned And have them toss it into the sea for their dad Going down that lonely road The same one I went down so many times before But this time you won't see me again Here in the city of broken dreams I've blended in with the scenery faster than you can say... Well... Anything that will come to mind Say "good bye" You're never gonna see me again Say "good bye" I never want to see you again

It's been 3 years since we parted ways I miss her like California misses the rain I'm all alone in my car and it's Labor Day But they're aligned against me The traffic is gonna prevent me again this time I gotta get up and go! It's Labor Day! Waiting for her To come back around Is like being in traffic all the time It's like I spent my entire life on the freeway LA to San Juan Capistrano is a long way I'm falling down at the stand still It seems We'll be apart into perpetuity It never felt so right For me to be this wrong I knew I wasn't gonna make it all along I gotta get up and go! It's Labor Day! And waiting for her To come back around Is like being in traffic all the time I feel like I'm looking forward to something that will never happen But I belabored the point It won't happen again I feel like I'm looking forward to something that will never happen I won't mention it again It's Labor Day but I'm Stuck in traffic on the 405 freeway It never felt so right For me to be this wrong I knew I wasn't gonna make it all along....

I was lost in the darkness But you were my light But I can't take it back now baby! But now everything is dark Without you to shine your light down on me You're the only one that could save me, baby! I remember when We used to walk through the park But now it breaks my heart to think, baby! The sun shined through the leaves On the tree lined boulevard That's what tore us apart, baby! Can't take it no more, baby! If you'd ask me I'd do it all over again The cartons on the dock They look like Lego blocks It's a sight to behold, baby! (They seem to go on forever, baby) The Vincent Thomas Bridge Is high above the harbor You're the only one that could save me, baby! But I can't take it back now, baby! If you'd ask me I'd do it all over again I can't take it back now anymore I'm drowning! I wish that I knew It'd be my fault we'd be over Before the summer came... If you'd ask me I'd do it all over again... The water coming closer Is green just like your eyes Your face is the only thing That I see in my mind After I'm gone The Vincent Thomas bridge will still be there... I'm drowning! If you'd ask me I'd do it all over again! I can't take it back now anymore I'm drowning! I saw you on the Vincent Thomas Bridge…

There's a place they call California Where they say the sun always shines Where the trees are tall Beautiful girls walk around in shopping malls And the pavement runs as far as the eye can see From the City Wrapped inside its blanket of fog Across bridges And hills of dead grass Posing as lawns To see a palm tree Growing on the plains And the lake in the sky Screams to me of better days Far away... Where are the postcard sunsets? And stars walking on the promenade? I'm so alone here in this crowded place Where there's always haste to get somewhere no one wants to be Far away... In California... My tank is out of gas The river is paved with broken glass Graffiti is sprayed on my window Hollywood The sandy beaches Los Angeles is nothing but the freeway... California I'm so alone here... California So crowded and yet so vacant... Where there's always haste To burn some gas to Get somewhere no one wants to be Far away... Can I call this place home? There's a place they call California Where they say the sales tax is high Where the trees are tall Beautiful girls walk around in shopping malls And the pavement runs as far as the eye can see Where there's always haste To burn some gas to Get somewhere no one wants to be Only in California

Sleep Just close your eyes and dream Peace Don't move for just a moment please You've got too much on your mind It's tearing you apart inside You wish there was someone next to you Someone to feel you breath It's sad To think they lied to you all your life Truth Is that in this in this life there's no guarantees (but death) There's no such thing as true love or prince charmings You wish there was someone next to you Someone to feel you breath (just breath) Whoever says there's someone for everyone is burning in hell As we all die a little bit every time you See them in public holding hands You wish there was some way to erase the pain but now You're all alone in your living room on your dirty sofa Hypnotized by the television She never loved you at all Sleep Just close your eyes and dream Peace Don't move for just a moment please Whoever said there's someone for everyone is burning in hell Whoever said there's someone for everyone is burning in hell
